Denominational Background:
His parents were Methodist and then Covenant. He was confirmed in the Covenant church. ln his youth he attended Assembly of God Bible camps, the church home of his grandparents. ln 1968 his parents joined with other families to start the Evangelical Free church of Willmar and he was a charter member. ln 1977 he was baptized at First Baptist (BGC) in Willmar. He and his wife Nancy raised three children in Willmar at the First Baptist Church and at the Evangelical Free Church.  

The church of Jesus Christ is composed of those who declare a personal faith in Jesus alone and walk in biblical truth (Ephesians 4:1). Denominations serve a purpose (Ephesians 4:31), but denominationalism is not biblical. Believers in different denominations should befriend and pray for each other. Harry lronside said believers should belong to the denomination of Psalm 119:63, "I am a companion of all who fear You and of those who keep Your precepts."
